Easton's Bible Dictionary Well. (1.) A place where a well was dug by the direction of Moses, at the forty-fourth station of the Hebrews in their wanderings (Numbers 21:16-18) in the wilderness of Moab. (see WELL.) (2.) A town in the tribe of Judah to which Jotham fled for fear of Abimelech (Judges 9:21). Some have identified this place with Beeroth. Noah Webster's New International Dictionary of the English Language 1. (n.) A fermented liquor made from any malted grain, but commonly from barley malt, with hops or some other substance to impart a bitter flavor. 2. (n.) A fermented extract of the roots and other parts of various plants, as spruce, ginger, sassafras, etc.
